FOR OUR HEALTH
Hypertension
High blood pressure is dangerous because it can lead to stroke or heart attacks. Potassium, which is widely present in fruits and vegetables, helps to lower blood pressure. So do fibre and phytonutrients. It is important to avoid the hidden salt (and fat) in processed food (even if it is plant based). Just like diabetes, heart disease and obesity, a WFPB diet may potentially reverse and normalise blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
