Shop Successfully as a Vegan

How to Find the Products you Love at the Right Price

We can buy many plant-based favorites ranging from Impossible burgers and Quorn chicken to Oatly milk at almost any supermarket, yet less-well-known products are not available there. Specialty vegan stores, on the other hand, may stock much of what vegans need yet may still lack have some of the newest brands that we read about in the media or hear about from friends.

Regardless of where we shop, prices of plant-based foods are often double or more than the cost of non-plant-based foods.

The questions for vegans, and vegetarians, then, are how to find what we want at prices that are affordable and how to find new products that are slow in coming to the supermarket or even specialty store shelves here.

Our panel of experts will share their insights about where to shop, how to find your favorites, and even how to get better deals on foods you really like. They’ll also share their secrets on staying “in the know” by following them and other insiders like them as they glean new ideas by following trends closely, talking to the people producing the food, and watching what leading supermarkets or niche retailers are doing.

Our panelists are from both small specialized markets that focus on vegans or vegetarians and larger stores that serve the broader market. Our panelists will provide insights on how they select the foods they stock, where vegans can find innovative products, and how to manage their costs. They’ll also talk about how to find and use ingredients such as jackfruit to replace meat and nacho or bacon seasonings if you want to cook foods yourself.
